If you’re itching for the 2012 show and race season to kick off, we’ve got some good news. The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association has just announced that there will be 16 opportunities to hang with all the Goodguys and gals this coming season at the new Super Sunday Get-Togethers (SSGT). Happening at 16 national events, these get-togethers promise to be fun for owners of all vehicle makes and models.
The Super Sunday Get-Togethers are open to all American made or powered cars of all years. These get-togethers will be held at all the Nationals events put on by Goodguys in the 2012 season except for the 26th West Coast Nationals held on August 24th through the 26th.
Featured at select events last year, the Super Sunday Get-Togethers are more than just a gathering of people and cars. Get-Together participants are also encouraged to participate in all phases of the event that include a show and shine and the FREE Goodguys electronically timed autocross competition.
Now you can show off what your modern vehicle is capable of. Participants are also eligible for Goodguys awards with ten or more awards being selected from the Get-Together vehicles.
“All Goodguys are car guys at heart,” Harry Davies, Goodguys VP of Event Operations said about the upcoming Super Sunday Get-Together events. “This will further broaden the scope of the events allowing as many as six or seven generations of car people to participate in a Goodguys event. It really is the best way to get new blood involved in our industry.”
We’re excited that Goodguys is opening a new avenue for modern and classic performance car owners to come together for some good ‘ole automotive fun. While we look forward to seeing the vast array of classics, muscle cars, customs and street rods that come out to the Goodguys events every year, we can’t wait to see what late-model domestics the 2012 Super Sunday Get-Togethers bring.
