The era of HSV Commodore production are well over, and the days of new inventory are reportedly numbered as well. Since it’s becoming increasingly more difficult for consumers to find any V8 powered Commodores, especially a VF ute, Holden is issuing a warning to buyer s that inventory is nearly depleted, and if you ever wanted to own a new HSV Commodore, you had better act quickly.

Of course, this doesn’t mean much to the majority of the readers of this site, besides the few thousand regular Aussie readers who visit our site, but watching this all play out has been a little heartbreaking as we are reliving the times of the fourth-gen F-Bodies, GTOs, G8s, and many other fallen muscle cars we adored. Oh yes, we’ve been here. We’re living it right now with the last of the Dodge Vipers, who have been killed off on the same timeline as the HSV Commodores, and is nearly disappeared from dealerships.

A spokesperson from HSV reported last week that they expect the cars to totally sellout by April. While fewer than 40 Senator Signature models are on lots, the GTS, GTSR, and entry level Clubsport and Maloo models are nearly depleted as well. And in case you were wondering there are absolutely no more GTSR W1s left out there on new dealer lots.

Since production has ended, there has been a surge in demand, unsurprisingly. They began to realize the April sellout point in February when they saw a massive sales spike. This is in spite of the fact that the company produced 10 to 12-percent more cars in 2017, which was expected to leave more vehicles than demand to last a while, so it seems like they underestimated the popularity of the last of the breed.
