Being a teenager is mostly about surviving your own stupidity long enough to start making reasonable decisions, and most of us are lucky to have grown up at a time when every stupid thought and action wasn’t likely to be broadcast to the whole world. But kids these days are coming of age in an era where social media and an appetite for attention combine for some truly stupendous displays of stupidity.
A night out to a local Applebees and a 2013 SRT Viper proved too tempting a target for the audacity of four young men who decided the only way to celebrate this cherished $100,000 supercar was by climbing all over it. DelmarvaNow reports that the Viper’s owner called the police on the hoodlums, and that was just the start of their troubles.

Hard to forget is the Viper that received a bit of vandalism earlier this year.
This isn’t an issue of a paranoid Viper owner being bothered by some kids crowding a car, but rather one of disrespect and attention seeking. There are lots of ways to be impressed and wowed by a cool car, but who in their right minds thinks it would be appropriate to climb all over a Viper that’s worth more than a private college education? It’s an utterly disgusting way to treat somebody else’s property, whether it be a $500 Chevy Celebrity or the above Viper.
Once police arrived at the scene, things went from bad to worse for two of the four youths. 18-year-old Sam Fazio was charged with failure to notify owner of unattended vehicle damage, driving under the influence and driving while impaired after he hit another car in the parking lot while attempting to leave. But the biggest bonehead of the night was 21-year-old Shayne Glasgow, who was was hit with a plethora of drug charges including possession of 470 grams (i.e. one pound) of marijuana, along with cocaine, psychobilin mushrooms, and prescription drugs (for which he had no prescription).
It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure that if you’re riding around with felony amounts of weed, you probably shouldn’t attract attention to yourself. And you should definitely not climb on top of supercars like they’re a damn jungle gym.
