While already being a rare car, this 1970 Plymouth Hemi Roadrunner may also be one of a kind. It’s 1 of 59 1970 4-speed Hemi Roadrunners built and it’s believed to be the only one in Jamaica Blue (B7) to roll off the assembly line. This one-of-a-kind Hemi bird was restored by Restorations by Julius of Chatsworth, California, whose namesake (Julius Steuer) drove it as his personal ride back in 2012.
The Roadrunner is equipped with steel wheels, bucket seats, AM Radio and of course the legendary 426 Hemi mill. Air is fed to the legendary motor through an Air Grabber hood. This looks like a standard hood at first, but after the driver flips the switch under the dash it transforms into a wild beast. A power operated hood scoop would rise from the flat hood with a shark cartoon labeled air grabber on it’s side. This mechanism was great for psyching out opponents at stop lights.

Chrysler claimed the 426 Hemi produced 425 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque. In reality the Hemi produces closer to 500 horses. These 500 horses provide enough power to slingshot the Roadrunner to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds and blaze the quarter mile in 13.49 seconds. The bird is currently owned by California Mopars who has the car listed on eBay with an asking price of $100,000. Being that this is only 1 of 59 four speed Hemi Roadrunners and the only known one in Jamaica Blue would you be willing to fork over six figures for this machine?
