We’re just a few weeks away from the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, and automakers are starting to release more and more teasers of the concepts and performance cars we can expect. While Chrysler already announced that it would be bringing 20 Mopar-customized vehicles to the Las Vegas Convention Center, they reserved this tidbit for its own press release.

This year, Chrysler will bring a special-edition 2014 Dodge Challenger to the SEMA floor, and they’ve released just a single teaser photo of the coming car. Let the irresponsible and rampant speculation begin!

In our minds, there is really only one Challenger that Dodge can bring to SEMA that will get us all a flutter, and that is the rumored 600-horsepower “Hellcat” HEMI said to be in the works. The 480 horsepower Challenger SRT8 is way outgunned by heavy-hitters like the 580 horsepower Camaro ZL1 and 662 horsepower Shelby GT500, and Chrysler has yet to offer factory forced induction on its muscle car.

That needs to change, and hopefully SEMA will be the long-awaited debut of a supercharged Challenger. Unfortunately, the teaser picture does little to reveal Chrysler’s plans for the SEMA Challenger, though we suppose it could be another sticker-and-badge package designed to cash in on Baby Boomer nostalgia.

Then again, SEMA is where Chrysler unveiled the Viper-powered Challenger V10 concept a few years ago. We wouldn’t mind if that concept made a triumphant return either.
