It’s every car guys dream – To open the doors to a garage and find a classic muscle car that’s been parked for the better part of two to three decades just waiting to be restored. And despite what people say these finds are still happening today. Take for instance, this gorgeous numbers matching ’69 Camaro that was recently rescued.
Our friends from CarsinBarns have devoted an entire website to bringing us stories just like this. This particular F-body was found with the original 255 horsepower 350 small block, th350 tranny, and the factory 12-bolt rear. Hell, the new owner boast that even the plug wires were original. From what we can tell the Camaro’s body actually appears to be in pretty good shape and according to the new owner was still covered in the original Olympic Gold. What’s more, there even appears to be another first gen parked in the same garage… How lucky can one guy be!
From the sound of it, the Camaro went to a great home. The new owner, Chris, explains that work has continued on the Camaro for 4 years, and he has taken the liberty to upgrade to disc brakes and outfitted it with a 3.55 Eaton posi. But it was clear that Chris was the right person to end up with this 45-year old time capsule by the way he finished the post on the popular website: “We saved one!”
The new owner expects the Camaro to be back on the road in late 2014 or early 2015.
