QA1 is pleased to announce that they will be teaming up with the Ultimate Street Car Association (USCA) to sponsor the GTV class at the OPTIMA Search for the Ultimate Street Car series. The OPTIMA Search for the Ultimate Street Car is a televised series of events where drivers compete in an automotive pentathlon. Now in it’s third year on MAVTV, the competition is open for amateur and professional drivers alike.
The GTV class is comprised of vintage cars older than 1989. The emphasis is squarely set on American muscle cars, so viewer should expect to see a variety of classic beasts from Ford, GM, Mopar and AMC. Participants are judged on design and engineering, road rally and autocross performance, speed-stop challenge, and road course time trials.
Dave Kass, QA1’s Customer Service Manager notes that the company’s involvement is based on the fact that “USCA events emphasize real street cars and encourage everyone to try their hand at competing. We want to support an organization that makes racing and competing accessible to everyone from entry-level competitors to professional racers.”
The OPTIMA Search for the Ultimate Street Car will have seven qualifying events throughout the year. The top drivers will compete in the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational that will crown the ultimate street car at the end of the SEMA show in November.
