Katech Engineering, a pioneer in high-performance LS engine development, filled a void in the market with the announcement of its new TrackFlow LS7 and LS3 Billet High-Capacity Scavenge oil pump.

The new Katech Engineering High Capacity oil pump is designed to improve upon and replace the now discontinued OE GM part for LS7 and LS3 engines with dry-sump oiling systems.

The pump will be officially debuted on December 11 at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show in Indianapolis. This announcement arrives as the vital GM OEM pump (PN 12623097) is discontinued, positioning the Katech TrackFlow oil pump as the essential, no-compromise upgrade for LS7 and dry sump LS3 platforms.

The new pump design improves scavenging by 62 percent over the stock LS3 unit and 44 percent over the LS7 part.

The TrackFlow pump is engineered from the ground up to address the critical oil control demands of track-driven and high-performance street cars with dry sump engines. It is the replacement that not only solves the supply crisis caused by the OEM part’s discontinuation, but elevates oil pump performance to a new benchmark.

“The TrackFlow is more than a replacement; it’s an evolution,” said Mark Rapson, Katech’s owner and president. “The Katech TrackFlow pump is a purpose-built, full-billet assembly was engineered for superior crankcase scavenging and oil pressure stability, giving builders and racers the confidence to push the limits.”

Increased Scavenging Capacity

The key capability of the Katech TrackFlow oil pump lies in its significantly increased scavenge efficiency, a vital metric for maintaining oil-free crankcase air and preventing oil starvation during sustained high-RPM operation, according to Katech.

The new dry-sump oil pumps are both hand-machined and hand-assembled in Katech’s Michigan factory.

The Track Flow is not just a replacement for the OE piece, but a marked improvement. Katech claims a 62 percent advantage in scavenging versus the LS3 pump, and a 44 percent improvement over the factory LS7 pump.

“This unprecedented capacity increase ensures that oil is rapidly and reliably pulled from the engine’s sumps back into the reservoir, maintaining consistent pressure and safeguarding against cavitation and aeration,” Katech said.

Billet Construction For Precision, Reliability

The Katech TrackFlow Oil Pump is a complete departure from cast construction, utilizing full billet aluminum construction machined from premium-grade material. Each unit is precision-machined to exacting tolerances, ensuring optimal fluid dynamics. Every pump is fully documented, blueprinted, and serialized for complete quality traceability.

The pumps are also hardcoat anodized, which is a durable and corrosion resistant finish, with a laser-etched Katech Performance logo and American flag.

No core is required, which eliminates the logistical burden and downtime associated with core exchanges, especially as suitable, low-mileage OEM cores for porting have become increasingly scarce.

The pumps ship pre-lubricated to ensure optimal startup protection and expedited installation. The pump is available for pre-order, with a ship date of December 19, 2025.
