When a test revealed the Corvette ZR1 was still faster than the all-new SRT Viper around Laguna Seca, SRT boss Ralph Gilles launched into an all-out offensive that included the launch of an all-new Viper model.
The Viper TA, or Time Attack, was designed specifically with Laguna Seca in mind, and now that production is ready to begin, SRT has leaked the last details.
This includes a very limited production run of just 159 vehicles, though given news that Viper sales are slower than expected, it could take awhile to work through all 159 of these more-special special edition cars.
The SRT Viper TA will come in three exclusive colors; TA Orange, Venom Black, and Bright White. More importantly, SRT engineers got hard to work on the Viper’s suspension, using the lightest available model and adding two-mode Bilstein shocks, new spring rates and dampers, sway bars, and brake components.
But wait, there’s more! Carbon fiber body and bracing components come with the Advanced Aero Package, while a new front splitter and rear spoiler help increase downforce by 700% at 150 mph.
Even the racing seats have been lightened to help improve performance on the track, and it paid off, at least performance wise. But will SRT find homes for all 159 of these special supercars? Which color would you choose?
