The Chevrolet Camaro is without a doubt one of the most iconic musclecars. GM did things right with the first-generation and it’s always refreshing to see them restored so closely to their original specifications. This particularly good looking 1968 Camaro belongs to Richard Moore of Port Ludlow, Washington, and once that glowing red paint caught our eyes, we couldn’t look away.
Richard bought the car four years ago, and he pretty much felt the same way about it as we did when he first saw it. “As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it,” he explained. He found the car on Craigslist locally out in Magnolia, Washington, and it was a dream come true. “My favorite car is a ’69 Z28 Camaro,” he explained. “But I’ve always wanted a Camaro and now I have a place to keep it and drive it, so it was the right time.”
“It’s got that real musclecar style,” he continued, “and I’ve always been a Chevy guy so it’s perfect.” The drivetrain on the car remains as unchanged as the exterior and features a 327 cubic-inch engine and automatic transmission. The interior was also done in the original style and features a slightly unusual option: dash vents without air conditioning.
We love Richard’s Camaro and he proves that a car doesn’t have to be a restomod to be cool. If you’ve got a cool set of wheels that you take out cruising on the weekends, we’d love to see it, so shoot us an email with a couple pictures and a little information on your ride and you might just see it here as one of our Street Features. Still a work in progress? Now worries, we’d always like to see a project for our What Are You Working On series.
