Nothing screams American classic louder than a station wagon, well nothing except for a V-8 Plymouth Satellite station wagon – with a hood scoop and Sublime paint job. What makes this bit of Americana scream even louder is the fact that is doing so right in the middle of Kotka, Finland.

Americans who grew up in the ’60s and ’70s grew up being driven around in station wagons. Into the 1980s, the station wagon fell out of fashion when minivans became more popular with soccer moms. This led to wagons becoming dirt cheap, and since they share the same drive trains as there musclecar cousins they have become popular among hot rodders in recent years.

This Finnish rodder took his ordinary 1972 Plymouth Satellite family wagon and injected it with a bit of testosterone. He swapped in a massive 440RB which is coupled with a 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. This runs into an 8-¾ rear end with 3.55 rear gears to spin the rear tires. The car has been coated in Sublime green paint with the Mopar logo on the quarter panels which adds a go-fast appearance. It has a massive hood scoop and wide rear tires to keep traction under the 440’s power. While this may not be the musclecar most expect, it boasts plenty of personality.

This Satellite wagon is a simple and fun car that collides the worlds of practical comfort with wild performance. It’s a car that looks like it would be a blast to cruise in; either down a long stretch of highway or to take on a cross country road trip.
