Say you’re the kind of person who really enjoys their privacy, to the point where you have a cabin so far in the woods that there are no roads to get you there. Sounds like a little slice, a place where you can hunt, fish, and see all the stars far away from the rigors of civilization. Sure, you could buy an ATV, but what if you want something faster? Something that flies?
Well Skyrunner has the solution for you. This EcoBoost-powered all-terrain vehicle goes fast, sips fuel, and needs just a very short patch of grass of breach to get airborne thanks to a big parasail. It’s mini-American muscle, in the air!
Sure, the three-cylinder EcoBoost engine only makes about 123 horsepower, but it weighs next to nothing. In fact, the entirety of the Skyrunner weighs under 900 pounds. This allows the Skyrunner to top out at around 115 mph on the ground, while managing to obtain an incredible 47 mpg. In the air, the Skyrunner can only go 55 mph, but the ability to fly over most everything certainly makes up for the low speed.
That said, the Skyrunner isn’t exactly cheap. Prices start at $119,000, and production isn’t slated to begin until next year, though there is a lot of potential for the design. From search-and-rescue missions to delivering much-needed aid in natural disaster areas, there’s also the potential for ground-and-airborne safaris or tourism events. Or you know, for just getting to your cabin deep, deep in the woods…for hunting.
