The first rumblings of the new season of the HBO fantasy epic A Game of Thrones have caused an uproar across the Internet, with new images suggesting a return for fan-favorite Jon Snow. But while the bastard son of Ned Stark seems to have been spared a grisly fate, the much-less-loved Lord Tywin Lannister will get no such reprieve. He’s dead and buried, and he isn’t coming back, to the delight of most watchers and readers.

Yet even the evil Lord of Casterly Rock has his fans, with his added starpower helping his 1967 Ford Mustang beat pre-auction estimates, selling for £33,550, or about $55,800. That beat the high end of the pre-auction estimate of £25,000 to £30,000 at the UK’s Classic Car Auction event earlier this month, almost certainly owing to Dance’s fame as the merciless patriarch of the Lannister clan.

Though an undoubtedly clean and well-kept piece of machinery, there’s nothing particularly special about this 1967 vintage Mustang. It boasts a 289 V8 (lovingly referred to as a “4.7 liter”) and a three-speed automatic transmission, receiving 113/135 condition rating, with everything except the vehicle’s history report getting either a “Very Good” or “Excellent” score. Having recently received a complete restoration and having barely been driven since, it’s the score one would expect.

Before the 2013 restoration though, Dance had daily-driven the Mustang since first purchasing it in 2002. England’s notoriously rainy weather necessitated the replacement of the floor pans, braking system, and rear wings, and the 289 motor was overhauled as well. Combined with Dance’s recent on-screen death, the timing seemed right for the actor to offload his steed at the peak of his fame.

We wonder what the former Tywin Lannister has in his stable now. Maybe a newer Mustang?
