The video above is simple, no dialogue or special effects, it only seeks to portray the essence of cruising. With nothing more than the sound of wind and the headers bellowing exhaust from the 383 stroker, what more do you need? Sit back and enjoy the sounds.
This 1929 Ford Model A is currently for sale at Texas Classic Cars of Dallas. The car has been chopped and channelled and features a 383ci with tunnel ram intake, header exhaust, and a 4-barrel carb setup. Finned aluminum covers dress it up with an old school flare.
Mated to the engine is a TH350 3-speed automatic with a Lokar long shifter. A Painless wiring harness consolidates the electrical system and keeps everything organized.
The ’29 has power disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear as well as a hidden brake booster. The Optima battery has also been tucked away. Capping the end of the drivetrain is a Ford 9-inch with 3.73 posi-trac gearing. This rearend is stabilized by a 4-link setup and coil-over shocks round out the suspension.
The wheels are 15-inch steelies, front tires are 215/75R15 radials and 275/60R15 in the rear. Some of the other finer details of the car include a fold-out windshield, Iron Cross side mirror and beveled glass rear-view, a Warner Vintage horn and lever, and a lattice steel web roof.
