Ford Blown LS1 up front and a rack out back. Work all day, party all night.

We like cheap and fast, and first-gen S10’s are just the ticket. We like ‘em even better with cross brand, supercharged LS motors stuffed under the hood. Check out this 1986 shorty S10 truck out of Illinois posted up at LS1tech.com.

These eighties era trucks are small and light and perfect for this kind power injection. Real hot rodding sometimes means using what’s available and cheap. Owner Tyler Sandau doesn’t particularly care where some of the parts come from as long as it kicks ass.

Originally a rust free Georgia truck, it’s running a 4.8-liter Chevy LS1 V8 with a Ford F-150 Lightning blower bolted onto a custom intake, ported heads, 60 lb injectors, shorty headers, and single 3” exhaust all tuned for 93 octane gas. There’s even a meth spray bar built (but no kit).

From there it’s hooked up to a Tremec T56 from a ’01 Camaro with LS7 clutch and LS2 flywheel turning a stock S-10 rear end with 3.42 gears. It rides on a dropped front end with 2” drop spindles and 1″ lower springs and a 4″ block drop in the rear.

Inside it has digital dash conversion with 6000 tach, bluetooth stereo, Blazer buckets and no A/C.

The exterior is stone stock with two-tone paint and factory wheels. It even has a rack on the bed so after your done hooning it, you can head to work to the morning.

It was for sale too, but looks like it’s found a new home. The truck had 300K miles on it and has been well used, but with all the mods and that fact you really could use it for work, the asking price of $8,000 seemed reasonable.
