Hennessey’s history of tuning cars to their maximum goes back some twenty-three years, starting with its founder, John Hennessey, setting out to hoon his way up Pike’s Peak in a tuned Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. Over time, the company’s noteworthy achievements in making performance vehicles have stunned and amazed folks around the world. One of their latest projects has been this, the Venom 700R.

Available for the 2013 SRT Viper and Viper GTS, the 700R package turns the car into a killer sports car capable of going up to 216mph. Benchmark tests have shown the Venom is able to burn down a street-based 1/4 mile in 10.7 seconds @ 134 mph, and go 0-60 in 3.1 seconds.

Standard upgrades to the Chrysler 8.0L V10 include high-flow cylinder heads, stainless steel long tube headers, high-flow cats, 3-inch stainless steel exhaust system, and a K&N air filter. Distinctive Hennessey badging and interior accents round out the package, with everything installed and inspected by professional technicians.

The company also provides chassis dyno tuning and road testing (up to 100 miles) and a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. When all is said and done, the upgraded Viper makes 65bhp and 95 lb.-ft. of torque over its stock configuration, for a total of 705bhp and 695 lb.-ft. of torque.

To get the most out of the Viper, however, Hennessey will outfit the car with optional upgrades like the VenomAero body kit, which attaches carbon fiber parts–like a front splitter and rear racing wing–to make the car more aerodynamic. The suspension can be tuned for better feel and response with a set of Penske double adjustable coil-overs, with lightweight monoblock wheels offering great strength and looks.

Topping it all off, there’s stylish carbon fiber trim accessories to adorn the inside, with a set of logo-embroidered Sabelt 5-point racing harnesses and a rollbar system to keep the passengers protected. Truly, the 700R Venom is one Viper that sounds as exciting as it is deadly.
