While crosstown rival GM suffers, Chrysler is riding a wave of confidence as it rolls out new products that are met with much aplomb. Perhaps the most-loved new Chrysler product though is the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is flying off of dealership lots. Wealthy people seem especially enamored with the 470 horsepower SRT8 versions of this new SUV, and that means Chrysler sees a chance to make even more money.
To that end, Carscoop reports that the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 will be offered with two new special edition models Jeep is calling Alpine and Vapor, though the differences are only skin deep.
The Alpine Edition of the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with a bright white paintjob and rolls on 20-inch black-finished wheels. The Vapor Edition, meanwhile gets a brilliant black paint job and also gets black-finished dubs with the black chrome finish. Gloss black highlights on the front grille, step pad, light bar, hood badge and door name plates further enhance the looks and presence of these over-the-top sport SUV’s.
That 470 horsepower HEMI V8 makes enough oomph to move the 5,000 lb. Jeep from 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds, and the $59,995 Grand Cherokee SRT8 certainly makes you pay for it. Opting for either the Alpine or Vapor packages adds another $2,495 to the price. As though a 470 horsepower HEMI powered SUV isn’t special enough…
