First off, let’s start off and say that that we are not condoning street racing by any means. However, we do condone high-performance builds and this Ford Mustang is no exception with a single Precision turbo and forged pistons and rods, and pushing almost 1,000 horsepower out of the stock Ford block.
Thanks to 1320 Video, we have some footage from the weekend of a national car meet when a little street action was going down on the streets of Texas involving various cars racing such as the aforementioned 970hp Mustang, 800hp Nissan GT-R, two 600hp Vettes (one supercharged and one naturally-aspirated), and a white Camaro.
The turbo red Mustang was accelerating hard against the GT-R reaching approximately 140 miles per hour when all of a sudden those familiar red, white, and blue flashing lights illuminated the rear end, and it was all caught on video. During the stop, the conversation between the men and the officer was all caught on audio.
Seeming unsure why there were so many cars out and about coming from different states, the men inform him of the national car meet. A lot of police officers are avid car fans, and this guy may have been one of them. Incredibly, the cop was laid back and let these guys off with a verbal warning. Others may have thrown him in the back of a cop car and sent the the high-performance Mustang on a date with the impound lot.
The officer mentioned that cars have been out playing since 1 a.m. and now that people were starting their commutes to work, but now he had to stop it to keep the streets safe. Waiting at a nearby gas station, friends showed priceless reactions learning that they only got off with a warning. Do you think he should have bought lottery tickets, too, that night?
