Video: A Barbaric 1500hp Twin Turbo Ford GT Screams Down The Tarmac

A pure beast of a Ford GT.

With the unveiling of the new Ford GT at the Detroit Auto Show, viewers were in shock and awe over the newly redesigned sleek supercar. However, let us not forget about the first generation Ford GT that is supremely capable of insane power gains.

This video, posted on YouTube channel 1320, shows a first generation Ford GT with unreal power and acceleration. A show stopper on every run, this bizarre 1500hp Ford GT was even detuned 400hp to compensate for loss of traction.

Inspired by the GT40 from the 1960s, the Ford GT is a pure supercar. To put into perspective, the first generation GT houses a 5.4L supercharged V8, producing 550hp and 500lb/ft torque.

The driver of the Ford GT in the video nonchalantly mentioned he was only running at 1100hp and topping out at 196mph. That’s a lot of power to be calm and humble about.

Supercharger swapped for a twin turbo setup.

Swapping out the factory supercharger for a twin-turbo setup, this Ford GT screams down the tarmac with grace. We can only perceive what the new Ford GT will sound like but this one here sounds incredibly beastly.

Accompanying the twin-turbo setup, the GT even has a 150-shot Nitrous Oxide System, which the driver did not have to use. Who needs NOS when you have 1100hp at the press of the pedal?

The GT even made short work of a 1500hp Cadillac CTS-V. Not to mention, the GT was only pushing 1100hp. We can only imagine how big that gap could be with this GT at full strength.

In comparison, the new Ford GT is powered by an EcoBoost six-cylinder engine that is rumored to crank out 600hp. Furthermore, the EcoBoost engine is based on the same engine specifications found in the IMSA Daytona prototype endurance racer.

Do you think the new Ford GT will be capable of making as much power as this beastly first generation GT? Can an EcoBoost six-cylinder rival the proven supercharged V8? Let us know your thoughts below.
