Since the 1990’s the Dodge Viper has been a respected sports car in the car guy world. Even if you’re not into sports cars, you have to love the pure attitude the Viper has. If anything, we have to hand it to Chrysler for continuing with the V-10 engine too, since it’s not a configuration that you see anywhere else.

Of course, the latest version of the Dodge Viper is an impressive one. The improved V-10 engine features upgrades that now push power levels to 640hp/600 lb-ft of torque at only 6,200 rpm. 14-inch Brembo brakes and 295/355 Pirelli rubber at the corners, we imagine this level of Viper (there are six if you count the race cars: SRT Viper, GT, TA, GTS, GTS-R, and GT3-R) is an absolute blast to drive since it’s designed specifically for track days–hence the TA badge (Time Attack). Re-tuned shocks and suspension modes, as well as a chassis-stiffening engine brace are a couple upgrades for the TA model, as well as carbon fiber spoilers that increase overall downforce.

Late last year Chrysler released this short video of the new 2014 Viper TA at the track and while we love the aggressive look of the car, the video’s editing, however, is hard to ignore. It as if someone at Chrysler said, “We want to show off the car, but don’t give the viewers any sense of speed.”

We know the car is an absolute vicious performer too, but think of this video as one that showcases the TA’s slight upgrades such as the ventilated hood and spoilers. Cheers to the engineers at Chrysler for building a seemingly fun toy for those willing to drive them hard; jeers to the editors that butchered the video.
