As far as new taglines go, Chrysler’s “Imported from Detroit” motto has garnered a lion’s share of the accolades. And with good reason; it works, even though Chrysler is technically located in Auburn Hills, a la-di-da suburb compared to Detroit itself. That hasn’t stopped Chrysler form using the tagline every chance it gets, including a new advertisement that has been tied in with what promises to be this summer’s blockbuster movie title.
Yes, we mean Batman: The Dark Knight Rises. This latest ad from Chrysler features a blacked-out 300S that has been “Imported from Gotham.” And once again, it just sort of works.
A blacked-out Chrysler 300 can be quite the intimidating vehicle. We would not expect Bruce Wayne to be driving anything less than an intimidating automobile. Of course Bruce Wayne being Bruce Wayne, he has access to some awesome non-existent technologies like floating holograms that respond to being touched and a bumper-mounted jet engine. Wouldn’t we all love that? Alas, as the disclaimer on the bottom notes, this car is only available in Gotham City…and we don’t think they mean New York.
This all but assures us that Chrysler will be placing its products at every turn in the upcoming Dark Knight Rises trilogy clincher. We’re pretty sure this is just a commercial for now…but then again, Jeep did have that Modern Warfare 3 Edition Wrangler, so who the hell knows anymore. Could Chrysler really pull off a Dark Knight Edition Chrysler 300?
