Dodge needs a breakout hit in the compact car department, and they’re hoping the Dart fits the bill. And at least on paper, the Dart has a lot going for it, with a 184 horsepower engine available on upper trim levels, tons of standard equipment, and a bolder look compared to other compacts. But all of that means nothing if it isn’t marketed right.
Thankfully though, the first full-length commercial for the Dart comes through with a fast-paced and entertaining commercial called “How to Change Cars Forever.” That’s quite the statement, and the Dart commercial certainly delivers.

The commercial is essentially a how-to list for making a game-changing car, and while it is certainly done tongue-in-cheek, there is a hint of truth to it. Designers are a notoriously fickle bunch, and it isn’t much of a stretch to imagine that Dodge designers went through multiple sketches and clay models before settling on a final design.
Then there is Travis Pastrana, who makes a guest appearance in the 600 horsepower, AWD Dodge Dart rally car. And the part about kicking out committees, followed by a three-wheeled Reliant Robin falling over on its, was pretty darn funny if you ask us. But we’re asking you…what’d you think of the Darts premier commercial?
