Video: No Modifications Needed With This Drop-Dead ’67 Impala SS

One of the many joys native to the automotive community is exploring your fellow gearheads’ projects. As car guys, our builds and restorations turn into our own personalized masterpieces in which we can express our perceptions of “perfect”. Cruise nights and car shows are the best ways of discovering what those perceptions are for the other gearheads out there.

Scott DuPre, host of the YouTube channel ScottieDTV, shares with us some of the best finds from cruises and shows he visits. As with almost any car show, he encounters a ton of wild, custom builds– like the V12 GMC pickup, the 455-big block Fiero, and especially “Gus the Bus”. While these are awesome glimpses at their builder’s imagination (and craftsmanship), there’s also something to be said about those who go the less-custom route.

In the above video, Scottie makes an extremely valid point: “If it wasn’t for the stock stuff, you really couldn’t appreciate the custom stuff.” But not only do clean, stock machines help us better understand where the custom builds came from, they serve as a refreshment from the masses of the highly-modified.

There’s a certain, undeniable attractiveness of an immaculately restored or well taken care of muscle car. No amount of aftermarket parts or modification can outdo that pure, timeless vibe that a car in factory condition gives off. This immaculate Impala SS undoubtedly has that vibe, with original Marina Blue paint and redline tires.

The crisp restoration to almost 100-percent stock definitely speaks towards the owner’s take on the perfect Impala– it safe to assume he thinks Chevy got it right. And with how great this car looks, we can’t help but agree.
