HEI was the GM distributor of the mid ’70s and up to the distributorless ignitions of the ’90s. If you have HEI, there’s not a whole lot that you can do to it unless you change your distributor and ignition altogether. You can get new wires, you can get a new cap, but it’s already a high-energy ignition so there aren’t any real add-ons that will upgrade your HEI.
But one thing you can do is tune it up with new parts and ProForm has just the kit for you. Not only do they have a new tune up kit for your HEI distributor, but they have a hot girl, Stephanie Lynn of Stephanie’s Power Shop, to show you how to install the kit.
Stephanie has done a series of install videos for ProForm and has shown viewers everything from adjusting your tire pressure properly for track use to degreeing a camashaft using tools you can get from ProForm.
Stephanie shows you that it’s not at all intimidating, and gives you some clues along the way on what to look for and what to expect. If you’re not “too much of a man” and you can admit that you can learn a thing or two from someone who know what they’re doing, then check out the video above and then get over to ProForm’s web site and order yourself an HEI Tune Up Kit.
Even if you don’t have HEI, who can resist a hot girl working on an engine? ProForm has more videos and their digital catalog can keep you busy for hours. If you’re interested in GM Performance Parts or Ford Racing parts, check out their catalog because they’re a licensed distributor for those parts. Or you can watch more videos from Stephanie’s Power Shop.
