Many enthusiasts think of Tuff Stuff Performance as an alternator company due to their very popular Hot Rod Custom line of alternators. These have been available in a wide range of finishes and offered in a range of 65 amp to 225 amp output, which leaves little question as to why Tuff Stuff alternators are so popular.
Equally impressive in the Tuff Stuff inventory are the other components in their rather large product line. From water pumps, starters, power steering pumps, and air conditioning compressors to power brake boosters and master cylinders, Tuff Stuff covers just about all the engine and brake accessories and components under the hood.
The Tuff Stuff power steering pumps are broken down into the two basic styles; the Saginaw and the Type II style pumps. The Tuff Stuff Saginaw style pumps feature all new components including reservoir and pump assembly. Add a billet style chrome cap, new dipstick and hardware and you have a complete assembly. These pumps are 1200 PSI rated to work with most gearbox systems. An 850 PSI valve available for Mustang II rack and pinion is available for the pump so anyone using those rack and pinion systems are covered.
The tight and compact Type II style pump is perfect for tight installations where room is a problem. The pump can be used with factory or remote reservoir tank depending upon part number. Like the Saginaw style pumps, these are rated at 1200 PSI rating, 850 PSI valve available for the Mustang II rack and pinion systems. The Type II pumps are available in chrome plated, polished aluminum, various powder coated colors and plain, as cast finishes.
