It was originally written by Charlie Ryan as an answer to the song “Hot Rod Race” that was debuted in 1951 by Arkie Shibley and the Mountain Dew Boys. Hot Rod Lincoln is a classic of the 1950s hot rod era.

There, hot rod enthusiast Dr. David Demangone fell in love with the car.

Originally looking to purchase a different hot rod, it was the Model A’s unique 1950s style and recent restoration that drew his attention. It wasn’t until after looking more into the car that he realized what a rare piece of history he had come across.

After purchasing the car for $97,000, Demangone took the car home to enjoy, but it drew more attention at shows than he ever expected. Instead of merely keeping the car to himself, Demangone opted to take the car on a charitable journey, selling merchandise based on the hot rod in order to support local organizations.

You may be wondering which organizations are most dear to his heart. Ones that are geared towards helping children such as St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Shriner’s Hospital for Children are two communities that Demangone is an avid supporter of.

Now on a journey like no other, the V12-powered hot rod continues its legacy – one secured by Ryan some 58 years ago. And with Demangone behind the wheel, we have a feeling we’ll be seeing more of the famed Hot Rod Lincoln for years to come!
