Hold on Pontiac purists… you are about to have an aneurism. Someone in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has done the following to a legit ’69 GTO Judge.
According to the Craigslist ad, the owner decided over 17 years ago to “customize” a GTO Judge to have something “unique” and “very nice”. They apparently had a large repair facility with a paint booth and experts working for them. So they proceeded to widen the body by 9 FREAKING inches to mold around the “large rear tires.” Then they rolled the ground effects up to the custom bumper that incorporates the new exhaust system.
The owner goes on to state that the paint (which by the way proves that disco isn’t in fact dead) is actually not as complicated as it appears. The base coat is black and prowler yellow that has yellow lime metal flake over the upper half of the body and emerald green flake on the lower portions.
Glancing at pictures of the engine bay it appears that the yellow flake theme continues throughout the entire bay and even on the Pontiac block. The only thing that wasn’t touched was the Muncie transmission because of how well it continued to shift. Underneath it appears to have exhaust dumps, front disc brakes, and Flowmaster mufflers.
Look, we’ve had some fun talking about this GTO, but before you… Well, judge… the owner for what he has turned this GTO in to keep in mind that he actually finished this project.
How many do you currently have in progress? And even though it might not be built to everybody’s taste, its hard to argue with the craftsmanship. Hell, he even painted the straps yellow that hold the fuel tank in place.
The good news is for only $35,000 this ’69 GTO Judge can be yours! For those that aren’t aware… That is a ridiculously affordable price for a legit ’69 Judge. Hagerty puts the value of these near 60k and could even crest into the six figure mark.
