Youtube user Unstang is the happiest man alive. He discovered a 1970 Dodge Challenger HEMI R/T that had been sitting for years only 25 miles away from his house.
This Challenger has a vinyl top with a father time paint job of grey and surface rust. Despite sitting for a few decades the Mopar musclecar is in surprisingly decent shape. Open the doors and you’ll find the original interior surprisingly intact. The original wood grain dash has all of it’s gauges while the shifter sits in the wood grain console.
The paneling remains on the doors and the carpet is filthy but there. All four seats remain in the car with only a small tear in the drivers seat. All the interior needs is a deep cleaning to have it looking factory fresh.
Pop open the hood and you’ll see the legendary 426 Hemi residing in the engine bay. The engine may be equipped with a few vintage speed parts as aftermarket yellow spark plug wires can be seen.
Backing up this theory are hood pins, mag wheels and massive wide tires, she was likely a drag car in her hey day. We can only imagine her in her glory days, screaming down the strip, eating Camaro’s and Mustangs for lunch.
The Dodge Challenger was the flag ship pony car for Chrysler in the early 70’s. She has a body that screams American muscle and a massive Hemi that played rock n roll. We can’t think of anything more American than a owning Hemi Challenger R/T while the crack of an aluminum baseball bat is sounding off in the background.
