Head on down to North Carolina with us and check out this walk around of a Plum Crazy 1968 Chevy Pro-Street Stepside truck with a skyscraper blower. ScottieDTV takes us on a video tour of this very cool, owner built Pro-Street rig.
Running a 355 CID small block Chevy with two 750 Demon carbs sitting high on top of 671 blower, twisting out around 800 HP. This monster mill is surrounded by custom firewall and inner fender sheetmetal with no hood to block the towering impellers and carbs. The power is laid down with a Strange rear end, 4:56 gears and huge 18.5 x 33 inch rear tires and wheelie bar.
The truck has been sprayed Mopar Plum Crazy with a top coat of Moss Green and finished off with a cream pearl ostrich leather interior with heavily chromed instrument panel, custom fiberglass console and a dash pad made from a massaged 1998 Thunderbird fiberglass spoiler.
A nice touch is a dump truck style rear bed lined with Brazilian maple. Not only can you clean out the bed but raising it up helps access monster meats, side dump exhaust and rear end. Gigantic wing off bed finishes off the look.
The truck was mostly built by owner “Robert,” who says it took two tries and seven years to get it just right. Mission accomplished.
