When it comes to high quality auto restoration products, United Pacific has a handle on the market. In the realm of body and lighting, the company carries everything you could possibly need for your classic muscle car or hot rod: from taillights to panels to entire doors and frames. We had the chance to talk to David Odegard, who shared a little about the company’s history, and some of its new products.
In the past, United Pacific was a behind-the-scenes supplier to many classic car retailers. Odegard told us that for many cases, when someone was restoring a Mustang, Camaro, or a ’55-’57 Chevy, and they received restoration parts in an unmarked, brown box … those were most likely parts that United Pacific manufactured and distributed to various retailers.
United Pacific has made advances in marketing, assuming their own branding, and labeling instead of anonymously reaching doors through other suppliers. According to Odegard, United Pacific still supports many major retailers, but now does so using its own product labeling.
Odegard also gave us insight on some of the newest additions to United Pacific’s large product line, including its new steel cabs for ’32 Ford pickups. Available in 2016 as a kit, it will include all panels, doors and fenders — everything needed to completely restore an old, rusted-out original. He also said the cab is a a brand new complete steel unit licensed by Ford.
Even though United Pacific’s passion is for hot rods, like the ’32 Ford, Odegard told us that they are “experts at everything that’s used in the mainstream musclecar department.” He shared with us that one of the products they wanted to highlight this coming year are lighting products — including its new LED light-bars for 4×4 applications, and lights for ’50s and ’60s cars. He also mentioned what he calls United Pacific’s “plug-and-play” LEDs for classic cars that do not require drilling holes or cutting wires.
