The Snowbird Outlaw Nationals at Bradenton Motorsports Park is an event with a rich racing history that spans well over four decades. That type of staying power has allowed the event to grow into one of the largest races in the Southeastern United States and pulls racers in from all corners of the country. The Snowbird Outlaw Nationals has become a destination event for many teams each year, serving annually as the final major heads-up race in the country. Helping to keep this race large and vibrant is the staff’s approach to the event, according to BMP’s Alan Chervitz. “With the level of racers and number of cars that come out we try to make this race have a national event feel. It really is one heck of an event with all the exhibition cars, and the racing we have with 13 race classes and well over 300 entries. It gives people some great value for their entertainment dollar.”

The Snowbird Outlaw Nationals brings all kinds racing action to BMP, covering everything including index classes, radial tire classes, and big-tire outlaw racing. Besides those classes, the event’s Outlaw Pro Mod class has been massive over the years.“The Snowbirds have become a must-see Pro Mod shootout. We’ve had around 40 Pro Mods show up consistently over the past five years. We will have Pro Mods from at least 10 different states and even different countries each year come out to race with is. Our racers are our family, and our family is going to entertain your family on the first weekend of December,” Chervitz explains

This is an established event for the racers and gives them an opportunity to keep racing when the weather has turned cold elsewhere in the country, so it’s no surprise you see so many cars come out. “If you think about it that way, it’s just a continuation of the season leading into the next year. It is the perfect weather for outlaw-type racing with it being cool for the south, and that gives the racers a chance to work on their programs,” Chervitz says.
