If you like checking out cool rides, getting prizes, and having a great time, then the 2017 Open House at Detroit Speed in Mooresville, North Carolina, is the place to be on October 20! The gates to the fun open at 5:00 p.m., but we wouldn’t wait until then. We hear that people started showing up at 3:00 last year. That means, by 5:00 p.m., the parking lots and grass area were already filled with more great-looking classic iron than you can imagine. Apparently, parking was at a premium with people lining the street as far as the eye could see. So, don’t get stuck looking in.
This is North Carolina, so you know there is no event happening without some great bar-b-que on hand. During the Open House a BBQ dinner will be served, and for a $5.00 donation (proceeds go to the Doug Herbert’s B.R.AK.E.S Organization).
When B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe) is a 501(c)3 organization founded by NHRA drag racing star Doug Herbert, which provides free advanced driver’s education in a program titled the Teen Pro-Active Driving Curriculum.
More than 5,000 teenagers lose their lives each year across the country in traffic collisions. This staggering number of fatalities can be reduced through the efforts of B.R.A.K.E.S. and its Teen Pro-Active Driving Curriculum.
This happening is an all-out effort by the folks at Detroit Speed and they take great pride in being able to open up the shop for their customers and fans to see and learn about the inner workings of the company. Also, since this is North Carolina, the show season is winding down, so don’t miss this chance to have a great afternoon and evening.
For more information, you can check out Detroit Speed Inc. And when the show is over, don’t forget to let us know how great the bar-b-que was.
