For the first time ever, Mecum’s January auction will now be held over 5 full days. With 1750 cars on the block the auction will become January’s largest classic car auction! The auction will take place Jan. 26-30, 2011 in the Silver Spur Arena at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Fla. January is typically a time for several high profile collector car auctions, and this one from Mecum is aiming for the top.
“The Kissimmee Auction is Mecum’s fastest growing event as witnessed by the huge success of last year’s event, which boasted a very high sell-through rate, more than 4,000 registered bidders and total sales over $25 million,” said President Dana Mecum. “We already see the momentum building for an even more impressive turn out at this year’s event, and it’s all taking place east of the Mississippi – it’s where the cars are.”
The Mecum Auction Company has been in business for 23 years and under Dana Mecum’s guidance they’ve become a significant player in the industry. Many private collectors and classic car dealers attend the event to buy and sell regularly. In 2010 they will have held 13 separate auctions alone, and those auctions are held all throughout the year in different locations throughout the U.S.
As with past major Mecum auctions, this event will be televised in full High Definition on the HD Theater channel. It will also be viewable via webcast live at www.mecum.com. The Kissimmee Auction is open to the general public with tickets are available at the door for $15.
