Total Cost Involved (TCI) recently announced three new and updated suspension components. These are the latest additions to their product offerings – a Torque Arm Kit for mini-tubbed Mustangs, a first seres Chevy Pickup chassis, and a Squarebody C10 bolt-in 4-link.
The Torque Arm rear suspension kit for ’64-’70 Mustangs has been reimagined to work with mini-tubbed vehicles. For 1964-1968 Mustangs the kit allows up to a 315 wide tire, while 1969-1970 Mustang can take a 335 wide tire.
What makes this kit different from prior versions is that the mounting points for the lower links bars have been moved inboard of the frame rails, TCI added frame reinforcement brackets and an adjustable chassis tie bar to stiffen the whole assembly.
This kit also utilizes many of the existing Torque Arm kit components to keep with the proven suspension geometry.
Additionally, TCI released a new Bolt-In 4-Link for the popular Squarebody C10’s.
The new kit for 1973-1987 trucks offers a significant ride height drop, excellent performance while maintaining the utility and strength of a truck. The 4-link bolts together and has been designed with unique bolt-on axle brackets that capture the axle tubes 360 degrees. Fully boxed c-notches capture both the inside and outside of the frame using 3/16” thick plate.
The 4-Link frame brackets are also constructed from boxed 3/16-inch plate one and a quarter inch overdrive link bars come standard and are designed to handle the abuses of a drag strip yet articulate well for street use.
Ride height is fully adjustable via coilovers and also three holes on the back of the axle bracket. At the lowest setting the fender to ground clearance is 24.5-inches with 29-inch tall tires.
Those looking for a new chassis and happen to own a 1954 or 1955 Chevy Pickup are in luck.
The TCI frame features main rails with an extended height from 6- to 8-inches for increased rigidity and clearance between upper and lower x-members while still retaining the original profile.
The chassis can be made to order for cruising, autocrossing, drag racing, or fully polished show-stoppers.
