The dynamic growth and diversity of the Ford Performance world deserves more attention, and StangTV is ready to give Blue Oval fans the extended coverage they desire. After a long and successful run, our magazine you know and love is set to split into two distinct magazines dedicated to covering the latest and greatest Fords, as well as the classic performers.
“Power Automedia is expanding our modern Ford and Ford musclecar performance offerings so readers can see more of what they want, and less of what they don’t,” explained Scott Parker, Power Automedia’s Director of Content & Strategy. “Our existing Ford-only magazine, StangTV.com, will expand into FordNXT.com — a magazine targeted to the next generation of Ford Performance, including Coyote, 2011-up Mustangs, Ecoboost, Raptors, and more. It’s for today’s Ford technology.”
When the new 5.0-liter engine debuted in 2011, the Coyote served as a true reset for fans of fast Fords. Its performance raised the bar for how enthusiasts expect their engines to perform. Likewise, the growth of the EcoBoost engine family as a performance platform means all these modern rides deserve a dedicated magazine, and FordNXT is set to deliver complete coverage of Ford’s cutting edge.
While FordNXT will serve fans of Coyote Mustangs and all the EcoBoost-powered Ford performance machines, its sister magazine, FordMuscle, will concentrate on the long heritage of Blue Oval performance from Three-Valve 4.6-powered S197s to pushrod 5.0-powered Fox Mustangs. With a do-it-yourself technical focus, this magazine will serve those classic Fords that are always being revitalized by passionate enthusiasts.
“We are very committed to Ford enthusiasts, and we’ve got some exciting plans in the Ford Market,” said James Lawrence, Power Automedia CEO. “StangTV has been providing incredible editorial content, photos, and videos to Ford enthusiasts for over six years, but we’ve got some big ideas brewing. We’ve realized the Ford marketplace has a lot of layers—Coyote Mustang, Ecoboost, Ford Raptor, Pushrods, Modulars, Classics, and more.”
In order to move these two titles forward, Power Automedia hired Executive Editor Steve Turner to lead the Ford group. He is an automotive media veteran, who has served as Editor-in-Chief of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazine and, most recently, SVTPerformance.com.
“I’ve known Steve Turner for more than 15 years, and you’re not going to find a more experienced, dedicated editor,” said James Lawrence, Power Automedia CEO. “He has invested a good portion of his working life in knowing the Ford and Mustang market inside and out, and we couldn’t be more proud than to have him on the team.”
“I am looking forward to working with the dynamic and innovative team at Power Automedia,” Turner said. “The team is driven by a passion for cars and they are always looking for a better way to spread that enthusiasm via online magazines, social media, and video. FordNXT and FordMuscle are going to be developed into the number one players Ford enthusiasts go to get their fix. I can’t wait to get started!”
Both magazines will be go-to sources for all things Ford performance: car features, detailed tech articles, event coverage, the hottest new products and the latest industry news. Look for StangTV to transition into FordNXT and FordMuscle to relaunch over the next few months.
