It’s not every day that you see a ’41 Ford half-ton that has been show-ready restored. Glen Davis of Bremerton, Washington, is the owner of this truck, and he is in the business of classic cars — but not in the way you might think. Glen doesn’t sell them, build them, or work on them, he takes pictures of them.
Rod Shots is his automotive photography business, and that can be clearly seen by the magnetic decal he has on the side of his car. Not just a fun vehicle, it is also a tool for advertising when he brings it to car shows. Not only that, but it also commands attention wherever it goes. “No matter where you go, it’s like being in a parade,” Glen told us. “People always give me smiles or thumbs ups!”
The truck was a Texas truck all its life, until Glen moved up to the Pacific Northwest and brought it with him. This Ford truck is built with a small-block Chevrolet 350 cubic-inch engine, 350 automatic transmission, and the rearend out of a 1957 Chevy. It also has the added benefit of air conditioning! The truck actually began in the 1980s as a high school shop project, then made its way to the Pate Museum of Transportation for a swap meet around 1991, and that is where Glen bought it. He hasn’t looked back ever since.
