From the “Stars & Cars” file comes Patrick Warburton’s bad ass 1969 Dodge Charger R/T. Initially looking like a factory R/T, Warburton admits it’s a “tribute” car, but doesn’t seem to care much as he just enjoys driving the Mopar around LA. DodgeCharger.com gives us the update.
Looking sinister in black-on-black with a white R/T tail stripe, the car looks to be of average daily driver condition and rides on a set of Cragar mags and BFGoodrich T/A radials. Under the hood packs a 44o mill with chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner and a Edelbrock intake and carb. Warburton says is sounds mean enough to cause “women to grab their kids,” as he drives by.
The square-shouldered Charger is a good fit for “big guy” Patrick Warburton. Born in New Jersey and raised in California, he’s best known for his roles in “Seinfeld,” “The Tick,” “Rules of Engagement” and the voice of Brock Samson in “The Venture Brothers.”
He’s also known as the voice of the um, Honda “Good Reasons” Campaign. Ugh. Hey, a guys gotta make a living and we have no qualms about that Honda money paying for Warburton’s classic Dodge Charger.
We particularly enjoyed Adam Corolla prove how truly out of his element he is with classic American muscle cars, as he mistakes the Edelbrock carb for a “Holley double-pumper” and fixates on the Dodge’s 6-inch in-dash clock, which as most Mopar lovers would recognize as one of the first “giveaways” that Warburton’s Charger was a phoney R/T. Maybe you should stick to Datsuns, Adam…
While not a bona fide R/T Charger, Warburton admits that he has more fun enjoying his Mopar rather than just looking at it in a garage.
