The classic Cougar is an old muscle car that many enthusiasts would love to own. Some of these old neglected cars may never be found in time to be restored, but sit in the same place deteriorating with the seasons. While browsing CarsinBarns, things like this are more common than you think.
Classic cars stowed away in garages, sheds, or fenced-in yards are often in sight but out of reach at the same time. Many of these cars that have been stowed and left to rot often retain some sort of sentimental meaning to the owner, despite the neglect. Maybe they say that they’ll be able to fix them up one day, but days go by – and then years – and the car sits with overgrown weeds surrounding it and ever-accumulating rust, or just collecting decades of dust inside some shed or barn.
We don’t know much about this classic Mercury Cougar or the engine (or lack thereof) but the outside shell seems to have tons of potential. Looks like a little bit of rust, but the majority of the car looks to be covered in grime from sitting under the elements and under a tree for quite some time.
No photos are available of the interior, but that is something easily replaced if looking for total restoration. Even if the motor isn’t in good condition, it looks like a good shell to start with.
The only comment comes from Pete who took these photos for Carsinbarns.“I found this Mercury Cougar in desperate need of a good home.“ If only we knew where it was, someone could be interested in snagging such a gem. How many of you would love to help find this Cougar a new home?
