Like a modern-day version of the infamous opium peddler Fu Manchu, John Hotchkis of Hotchkis Sport Suspension out to get you hooked on a crazy new drug. But this new narcotic is far from an illegal substance, its autocrossing. Setting cone-dotted courses up at big car show events (like Del Mar’s Goodguys show and this weekend’s Mopars at The Strip), Hotchkis welcomes any and all, young and old, to take a ride in one of his H-Team sponsored muscle cars.
Giving away the first hit for free, enthusiasts are taken for the ride of their lives as Mary Pozzi or Dan Weishaar careen through the corners in either the Hotchkis E-Max ’70 Challenger or Weishaar’s ’68 Road Runner.
We’re really enjoying the autocross scene these days. And by no small feat, Hotchkis Sport Suspension has been laboring to not only get people aware of the sport of autocrossing, but getting people hooked by taking them out on rides.
This weekend was no different, as Hotchkis manned the microphone as a sideshow barker of sorts, welcoming the curious and the daring to check out the hard-cornering action.
