In the latest marketing effort coming from Dodge, a video teaser featuring the all-new 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat and Motor City native Eminem was recently released. The video, shot in the streets of Detroit, not only showcases the 700HP Hellcat but is also themed with the background music of Slim Shady’s latest single to be unveiled, “Guts Over Fear”.
The compilation CD, Shady XV, featuring Eminem along with several other music artists, celebrates the 15th anniversary of the partnership between Interscope records and the infamous rappers label Shady Records, commemorating their fifteen projects over the years. A double-disc CD which includes additional songs from 50 Cent, Bad Meets Evil, D12 and Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse and others has officially been given the Dodge family support with their inclusion of Eminem’s new single in the video teaser.
Not the first time we have seen the pairing of the Chrysler and Eminem duo, Chrysler enlisted the infamous rapper three years ago to promote the 2011 Chrysler 200 in a commercial that aired during the third quarter of the Super Bowl resulting in a successful marketing campaign for the company.
The SRT Hellcat seems a bit more fitting for the bad boy image of the rapper than the Chrysler 200. It’s suspected this video teaser could be the launch of further collaborations between the two entities. With the artwork from the new album seen at the end in a one minute clip, it appears to be more likely than not this is an advertorial campaign and there will be more of the Hellcat rolling through the streets of Detroit featuring possibly Eminem or maybe even other artists from the CD in a support of “Lets Keep Music Driving”.
What do you think of Dodge’s choice in choosing bad boy rapper Eminem as their latest mascot for the all-new 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat? Is this a match made in Motor City heaven or hell – or maybe a nice mix of both?
