Can’t Get A Hellcat Fast Enough? A Chevy Dealership In SC Has Two

hc4sale1 We shared a story about a used Hellcat with only 13 miles on it, and wondered if it was a trade-in, and what it was traded for. All sorts of ideas conjured up about how a Chevy dealership had received a car that many others have been waiting for several weeks to take delivery. First thought: too much car? Probably not. Second thought? Traded for a Z-28? Probably not. Marketing ploy? Probably.

hc4sale3The Hellcat we reported earlier was found in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Craigslist under used cars for sale. It lists out as a 6-speed with just those 13 miles and is listed as “Must drive 2015 Dodge Challenger 2dr Car” and when you click on the ad you find the Hellcat and several picturs.

Well, we found out from a reliable sourse that the car wasn’t a trade-in at all. We wondered if the car was purchased and driven directly to the Chevrolet dealership, and as it turns out – it was. It seems the owner at Jud Kuhn’s Chevrolet went out and bought a pair of Hellcats – Redline Red and Sublime – and they’re currently selling the Hellcats for about $78,900 each.

Perhaps you prefer the Sublime Hellcat? They have one of those, too.

We personally know people who have been waiting for a while to get their Hellcat Challenger, and a few people have popped up on forums like Hellcat.org to share their new pride and joy with everyone. But now we have a dealership owner – Chevrolet at that – who is buying the cars just to sell them with his own mark up.

We knew the ridiculous “San Diego Market Adjustment” of the Perry CDJR to the tune of $150,000 was not real, but we have heard of some pretty hefty markups for the Hellcat.

While some reports state that dealers are marking them up anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000, it makes us wonder what the owner paid for these two Hellcats. Does it seem fair that a Chevy dealership gets a couple of them and marks them up and sells them as used? What are your thoughts? Share them in the comments section below.
