Barn Find: Canadian Muscle A 1968 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible

Stephen you are one lucky Canuck. Stephen found a mint 1968 Pontiac Parisienne 2+2 convertible sitting inside of a storage unit. He found the car in a storage unit along with a few others, though he could only afford the Parisienne. She had been sitting in storage for 23 long years waiting to be driven. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Parisienne, the Parisienne was a muscle car produced by GM in the 60’s exclusively for the Canadian market much like the Opala SS for the Brazilian market.

Sitting underneath her hood is a BBC 396 V-8 which is tied to a TH400.  Inside she has power windows, power steering, a power top and believe it or not a power seat, all of these things worked when Stephen found the car. She also has a remote controlled mirror and rear speakers, she was a pretty high tech car by 1960’s standards. According to the Vin numbers she was built in Canada and her original color was Tropical Turquoise but she has long since been painted red.

The Parisienne was in mint condition when Stephen acquired her, aside from the fact that she did not run. However, after a little hard work and some elbow grease he was able to bring her back to life. These cars are becoming rarer and hard to find by the minute. Thankfully, Stephen was able to get her back on the road and preserve a piece of Canadian muscle car history.
