Recently, Goodguys Rod & Custom Association teamed up with the Austin Hatcher Foundation in their fight to wipe out pediatric cancer this season. Labeled as the AutoCross for Kids program, Goodguys will kick off the fundraising at their upcoming events across the nation, with all proceeds going to the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer in Tennessee.

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer provides services to children with cancer as well as their families through their cancer care center, Hatch’s House of Hope. What’s more, these services offered are provided at no cost to the patient’s family.

AutoCross for Kids will take place at select Goodguys events. Following a donation, participants will be able to ride with the top Goodguys Autocross PRO drivers in their signature car. There are plans to initiate the program at a minimum of five 2015 Goodguys National events including the Indy Nationals, PPG Nationals, Southeastern Nationals, Nashville Nationals, and North Carolina Nationals.

Participants’ donations will fund the Austin Hatcher Foundation’s Diversionary Therapy program, which provides patients with a diversion from their illness. Furthermore, contributions will go towards the foundation’s Healthy Lifestyle program, which teaches children about proper exercise, nutrition, safety from the sun and resistance to tobacco usage.

Proceeds will also go into the foundation’s Psycho-Oncology program, which offers specialized therapy techniques to pediatric cancer patients, survivors, and their families.

“Goodguys events are family events,” said Marc Meadors, President of Goodguys Rod & Custom Association.  “The hot rod/car community is a huge family and bringing the Austin Hatcher Foundation into the fold is a win-win for everyone. We hope to do great things for them this year through the AutoCross for Kids promotion in raising and awareness and funds in the fight against pediatric cancer.”
