Once again, RK Motors Charlotte has found a diamond in the rough. This time around, RK Motors presents us one of Mopar’s finest muscle cars: a 1970 Plymouth Cuda.
Restored from the ground up and completed last fall, this blacked out Cuda is absolutely immaculate. Not only is the Cuda pristine but is also original with full documentation provided.
With the numbers matching, this Cuda includes the factory 426ci Hemi V8 engine, complete with its original casting number that produces 425hp and 490 lb/ft of torque. An A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission assists in putting all the Hemi’s power to the pavement.
The Cuda’s legendary 426ci block features an oversquare bore, cast iron heads, forged steel rods, a forged steel crank, forged aluminum pistons and a hydraulic cam that has a ridiculous 10.25 to 1 compression ratio.
Not to mention, this Cuda is 1 of only 368 produced for the 1970 model year. The Cuda was meticulously restored, stripped all the way down to the bare metal and sanded with attention to detail.
We can’t argue the bodywork done to this Cuda, as the panels are super straight and looks like it just rolled off the assembly line 46 years ago. The only feature that differentiates it from the original Cuda is the silver shaker hood accessory.
The Cuda has a Dana 60 Sure-grip differential with 3.54 gears. The black interior complements the black velvet paint on the exterior, which glistens under the showroom light.
What’s more, this Cuda won the Awarded Sponsor Pick at the 2014 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Rosemont, Illinois. This black on black Cuda will be sure to hold its value for years to come.
As of February 23, 2015, the Cuda’s auction price is $259,900. Do you think this Cuda holds up to its expensive price tag?
