The era of muscle cars and unfiltered power resonates in American automotive history. Posted on Barrett Jackson, they are currently auctioning a beautiful 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396.
Produced by the Chevrolet Division of General Motors in three separate generations spanning from 1964 to 1977, the Chevelle was one of the company’s most successful nameplates. The SS or Super Sport versions of these cars were muscle cars at their finest in performance and aesthetics.
With numbers matching, body straight as an arrow, and masterfully repainted, this Chevelle represents not only beauty but also a piece of history. The demand over the years has only been growing for these aging muscle cars, but they are certainly not out of style.
A 396 cubic-inch V8 engine sits firmly under the hood, coupled with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, power front disc brakes, Flowmaster headers and exhaust, and a 12-bolt rear end with 3.23 gearing. What was originally a blue car, this Chevelle was repainted in 2008 in Tuxedo Black, mated with white stripes and a fresh layer of clear coat.
Based on the results, they look absolutely amazing. Everything is functional in the car, the chrome is spotless and rust-free, and everything inside is brand new.
From the seats to the seat foam and covers, everything has been replaced to bring this black beauty back to its hay day. Marked as one of the best model years in the Chevelle generational timeline, take your chance at bidding for this Chevelle, which is currently auctioning for $59,500.
