There are absolutely no two ways about it–Larry Larson is a bad, bad man. Over the years, Larson has blazed a path of records that include five Unlimited class wins in Drag Week, become the quickest true street legal racer in the world with the first and only five-second run by a street car, and the first to run in the six-second zone during Drag Week….just to name a few. Now Larson can add a Rocky Mountain Race Week win to his resume, the first such victory with his totally gnarly Proline powered S-10.

Over the course of five grueling days and 1,200 miles, the participants of Rocky Mountain Race Week travel from Bandimere Speedway, to Pueblo Motorsports Park, S.R.C.A Dragstrip, Kearney Raceway Park, and back to Bandimere Speedway for the final runs. In all, they traverse through three different states. This event had everything from an indexed True Street class all the way up to the bad boys of the Unlimited division where you just have to make a minimum weight to do battle.

For Larson, this event was not a walk in the park by any stretch, as seen in this killer coverage from 1320Video. During his adventures, Larson had to deal with swapping out an alternator that decided it didn’t want to be a part of the trip. SA cracked fuel cell from excessive tire shake was also discovered during a fuel stop after a day of racing.

On the track, Larson had a scare when one of his chutes failed, and that led to him having to get hard on the brakes and actually bounced and scraped the truck on the track at the top end. Check out the entire video to see the other challenges Larson faced on his way to yet another title.
