As the case is every year in downtown Los Angeles, the current and upcoming lineups of American muscle and overall car craftsmanship were more than represented at what is the West Coast’s most important motoring venue. The International Auto Show is held every year around this time at our fine city’s own Convention Center.

The LA Convention Center was filled to the brim–if that were even possible–with the performance scene’s latest and greatest. We had the pleasure of perusing the show to see what America’s top automakers had in store for the common, horsepower-loving enthusiast.

Among the most noteworthy of these was the all-new SRT Viper GTS. The limited production Launch variant made one of its first appearances last August at Pebble Beach’s Concours d’Elegance in Carmel, California. The Mopar world also swept us away with this “Plum Crazy,” new-gen Challenger made to look like an early T/A racer, complete with the ram air hood that set the original 340 T/A apart from its siblings in the early ’70s.

Callaway commemorates the end of the C6 lineup by sending the series out with a bang.

San Fernando Valley’s own Galpin Ford brought this very clean Galpinized Boss Mustang, fitting in with the ’13 Callaway Vette and a Hot Wheels edition 5th-Gen. The upcoming 2013 sales year not only marks the 60th anniversary of the Corvette, but it also marks the end of the C6 lineup. Callaway, with their modded convertible, decided to send the C6 generation of the nameplate out with a bang.

Big V8 muscle is most likely your thing as it is ours, but we were fascinated to find that Chevy also had on display a couple of new sports hybrid prototypes that make use of an eco-friendly, 1.4 mill found in the front-wheel-drive Tru 140S and the rear-wheel-drive Code 130R.

The LA International Auto Show is always a well-rounded display as far as everything muscle and aftermarket. Will you be at the LA Convention Center in 2013?
