Jason Lewis produces YouTube videos for his Autoedit channel there. At the request of his YouTube viewers, he did a video about his own modified Z/28 Camaro, which he originally bought from a friend that garaged it for 20 years, after blowing a head gasket. It’s a cool story and the outcome is a nicely recovered performance car.

The Z subsequently received a full makeover, including Hotchkis TVS suspension, GM Performance Parts crate engine, Baer T4 Cross drilled and slotted brakes, Flowmaster exhaust, Koni shocks a Spohn torque arm and replacement control arms add a handling edge that  cuts pavement like the proverbial hot knife in butter.

So, that’s just for starters. A six-point roll cage, racing seats, competition belts and a rebuilt 6-speed manual transmission round out the current state of this Camaro. While Lewis uses the car as a daily driver, it also gets taken to lapping days, where he says he’s pressured some pretty hot rides costing a whole lot more than his.

Looking like the video is set in one of the canyons north of Los Angeles, Lewis puts together an enjoyable video of a creditable car in which he’s obviously got a lot of personal investment.
