Back in the late ’60s when Chevrolet graced us with the first generation Camaro, GM enthusiast and business owner Don Yenko, owner of Yenko Chevrolet, set out to create one of the coolest and most well-known dealer-specific Camaros to date – the Yenko Camaro.
The Yenko Camaro was powered by the L27 427 cubic-inch V8 found in the Corvette at the time. The car also featured heavy-duty suspension upgrades, and a cowl-style hood fabricated from fiberglass which was specific to the Yenko models. Models like the Yenko Camaro really paved the way for high-performance models of the future, like the current sixth-generation Camaro SS, which also utilizes the latest generation Corvette’s engine, the 6.2 liter LT1 V8.
It seems that history has repeated itself with the all-new ’16 Camaro, or at least it wants to, as Rick Hendrick Chevrolet has created its own iteration of the latest musclecar from GM. Chris Marvin, a forum member of Camaro Six happens to be the new owner of this special edition Camaro.
Throughout time, special edition models and packages have always proved popular with enthusiasts in the community, and the Rick Hendrick edition Camaro SS is already looking very promising.
Availability of this unique package is expected to be limited, so stay tuned for more details on how to order one for yourself.
