Spotted on eBay, we found a dusted up rust bucket that we’ll leave for you to judge. This 1958 Buick Special has not seen the road since the ‘70s and it is quite apparent.
This postwar sedan featured plenty of chrome and twin headlights to go along with is long frame and wide proportions. What carries plenty of prestige from the ‘50s, the aesthetics on this Buick clearly depict what was trending; chrome.
The black on blue color scheme must have looked great in its prime, which this car is clearly past now. With several of the original components still in place, it looks as if a majority of the driveline is ceased due to neglect for the past 46 years.
What could make for a great restoration project, this Buick may need more than some elbow grease. But isn’t that the fun in rodding? Whether this becomes a restoration project or a transformed into a complete custom, this is a barn find that is a beauty in the eye of the beholder.
This can be seen as junk to one, but a treasure to another. We can agree that there is a ton of surface rust and rot on the floor panels, but on the flip side, all of the trim is intact as well as the original glass.
The interior will need some sprucing as well since there’s a tear in the driver’s seat and grime from the car sitting for so long. Let us ask you, is this car worth the time to bring back to glory or a lost cause? Feel free to share your thoughts below.
